About us

Foster Building & Developments LTD is a Plymouth-based building company delivering high-quality residential construction services across Devon & Cornwall.

The company is led by Ben Foster, a time-served carpenter with over 20 years’ experience in residential construction. While Ben’s technical foundation is in carpentry, his experience extends far beyond the trade itself.

Throughout his career, Ben has delivered and managed a wide range of projects including new build homes, large-scale residential developments, complex structural refurbishments, heritage restorations, Grade II listed property conversions and 18 completed barn conversion schemes.

Ben previously ran a successful family construction company responsible for delivering its own residential developments, acting as Building Site Manager across these projects. This role involved full responsibility for site operations, programme coordination, trade supervision, quality control and health & safety compliance from groundworks through to final completion.

This combined experience — technical carpentry expertise alongside full site and project management — enables Foster Building & Developments LTD to deliver extensions, structural alterations and complete renovations with a high level of organisation, structural understanding and attention to detail.

Now focused on private residential clients across Devon & Cornwall, Ben leads each project with a hands-on approach, supported by a trusted team of skilled tradespeople.

Acting as Project Manager across these developments provided extensive experience in programme control, structural coordination, trade sequencing and quality management — expertise now applied to every residential project.

We work closely with architects, structural engineers and building control to ensure every project is completed safely and in compliance with regulations.
